INNOVATION IN ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS EDUCATION TECHNOLOGY IN ORDER TO FACE THE CHALLENGES IN THE ERA OF SOCIETY 5.0

Education is a major challenge of the first century, if it does not change the way of educating
and teaching and learning, then in the next 30 years we will have great difficulties. Education
and learning that is loaded with knowledge content overrides the content of attitudes and skills
as currently applied will result in learners who are unable to compete with machines. The
purpose of this study is to describe in depth some of the innovations in learning technology for
Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in the era of society 5.0. Innovation in Islamic Religious
Education learning technology is very important to do because it is relevant to the vision of
society 5.0, which is to create a transformation in learning. In the era of society 5.0, humans
should be the controller of technology and society is required to think critically, constructively
and innovatively. Especially during the pandemic that has hit the whole world, Islamic
Religious Education really needs a medium to express thoughts, ideas, ideas and feelings that
can shape people's behavior, even though learning is carried out online, but behaviors that are
expected to contribute to the learning of Islamic Religious Education and are relevant to the
needs of society 5.0. Therefore, to achieve this goal, there are several innovations that can be
carried out in learning Islamic Religious Education, including the application of HOTS
(Higher, Order, Thinking, Skills), updating futuristic learning orientations, choosing the right
learning model, developing educator competencies, providing futuristic infrastructure and
learning resources and using technology that of course can support optimal learning
